Description: | Incomplete record. Mountain range extending from Pend Oreille Lake southeastward 400 mi along the Idaho-Montana boundary to Beaver Creek and Monida Pass; it consists of the Coeur d'Alene and Saint Joe Mountains (northwest end), the Bitterroot Mountains (central part), and the Beaverhead Mountains (southeast end). This range is bounded by parts of the following features in order: on the northwest by Pend Oreille Lake, Rathdrum Prairie, Coeur d'Alene Lake, Saint Joe River, North Fork Clearwater River, Deception Gulch, Independence Creek, Kelly Creek, Cayuse Creek, Lochsa River, White Sand Creek, Big Sand Creek, Jeanette Creek, East Fork Moose Creek, Moose Creek, Selway River, Stripe Creek, West Horse Creek, Horse Creek, Salmon River, Lemhi River, Eighteenmile Creek, Birch Creek, and the Snake River Plain; on the east by Beaver Creek, Monida Pass, Sawmill Creek, Little Sheep Creek, the drainage basin at the head of Sheep Creek, Medicine Lodge Creek, Horse Prairie Creek, Bloody Dick Creek, Dark Horse Creek, Big Hole River valley, Trail Creek, Gibbons Pass, Camp Creek, East Fork Bitterroot River, Bitterroot River, Clark Fork and Pend Oreille Lake.
