Description: | Located along the Continental Divide in the Bitterroot Range, 19 km (10 mi) east of Tendoy and 69 km (43 mi) west-southwest of Dillon;located in Salmon National Forest and Beaverhead National Forest. |
History: | A proposal to change the name Lemhi Pass to Disappointment Pass was submitted in December 2003; the USBGN rejected the proposal at its 14 December 2005, meeting citing the findings and recommendations of the local government agencies, and the Idaho Geographic Names Advisory Council and U.S. Forest Service, all of which cited reluctance to change a name in long-standing and well-established usage. |
